Exciting News: Abstract PB3837 Accepted at EHA 2025!
We’re proud to announce that our abstract, PB3837, has been accepted for presentation at the European Hematology Association (EHA) 2025 Congress!
This research is a collaborative effort led by Elisabetta Mezzalira, a member of both HELIOS COST Action and ERN-EuroBloodNet (European Reference Network on Rare Hematological Diseases). The study delves into hematology healthcare professionals’ knowledge of essential AI concepts—including machine learning, deep learning, and big data—and explores their attitudes and perspectives towards integrating AI into hematological clinical practice.
Key Findings:
-
Knowledge Gaps: The study identified significant gaps in understanding of AI concepts among hematology healthcare professionals, highlighting the need for targeted educational initiatives.
-
Positive Attitudes: Despite these knowledge gaps, there is a generally positive attitude towards the integration of AI into clinical practice, with many professionals recognizing its potential benefits.
-
Need for Training: The findings underscore the importance of developing training programs to enhance AI literacy among healthcare providers in the field of hematology.
This important work highlights the growing role of AI in hematology and identifies key knowledge gaps that need to be addressed to ensure successful integration into patient care.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all HELIOS members who took the time to participate in our survey. Your contributions were invaluable in making this research possible.
