The Haemoglobinopathies in European Liaison of Medicine and Science (HELIOS) network will host a monthly speaker series with established researchers presenting a new approach to the diagnosis, treatment, guidelines and health economics of haemoglobinopathies.
The HELIOS network is committed to ensuring equal access to training on haemoglobinopathies for all.

The sixth speaker in the webinar series is Prof. Immacolata Andolfo, an internationally renowned junior researcher specializing in the genetics of red blood cells and iron metabolism defects.

Professor Immacolata Andolfo is an internationally renowned junior researcher specializing in the genetics of red blood cells and iron metabolism defects. She serves as the Professor of Medical Genetics at University of Naples, Italy, and head of the analytical phase of the medical genetics lab at CEINGE Institute in Naples. During the last years, Prof. Andolfo laboratory has specialized in the study of the mechanoreceptor PIEZO1 and hepcidin regulation.
